When Shiseido comes up in beauty conversation, I can’t help but share my absolute love for the many Shiseido bottles and jars on my skin care palette. Shiseido partnering with the Art Gallery of Ontario for the Yayoi Kusama: Infinity Mirrors exhibition made perfect sense.
Shiseido has invested in the arts in Japan for over a century, considering Japan’s oldest art gallery is Shiseido Gallery in Tokyo. Yayoi Kusama: Infinity Mirrors exhibition is one of the most famous art installations in the world and getting at ticket to see it for yourself can be a waiting game but thanks to Dave Lackie, Shiseido and the AGO I had a spot first in line to see infinity for myself.
The event was to celebrate not only the partnership between Shiseido x AGO for Infinity Mirrors but the launch of Shiseidos newest moisturizer range, Essential Energy. Read about the new magic Shiseido moisturizing cream.
Yayo Kusama: Infinity Mirrors at the AGO is a must see if you can. It was a once a lifetime experience I will never forget. The AGO has six infinity mirror installations + many rooms full of Kusama’s work . Every room and every piece was a self discovery in itself. It is hard to explain how the entire exhibition makes you feel unless you experience it yourself.
A lot of the hype around this exhibition is the infinity mirrors and it is because it truly is unlike anything. With only up to 30 seconds in each Infinity Mirror room, you really appreciate the moment. As much as it is the perfect selfie, photo moment, allowing yourself to just appreciate each room without technology is the best experience.
Due to the time sensitivity of each room, every one at the event was given a time line to experience the Infinity Mirrors. Lucky me, I was in the first time slot of the night and my Infinity Mirrors partner, Danielle from Darling Magpie, and myself were first in line for every room. It was a whirlwind experience and one I will never forget.
Yayoi Kusamas other works are just as much of an experience as the infinity mirror rooms. To be inside Yayoi Kusamas world even for a moment is a moment in the infinite.
Yayoi Kusama: Infinity Mirrors is at AGO until May 27th. If you have any opportunity to see this exhibit, it is an absolute must! Tell me know if you went, go or want to go. Big thank you to Dave Lackie, Shiseido and AGO for this Yayoi Kusama experience.
